A ChatGPT trip planner gives you an answer in text that you then have to turn into dates, stops and bookings yourself. HolidayWow reads the same kind of sentence and draws the trip as an editable plan on a map, with real prices and booking built in.
ChatGPT is OpenAI's general-purpose AI assistant: you ask in a chat and it answers in text. That text can be a solid starting list of places and a rough order for a trip, but it stays a block of writing until someone turns it into days, stops and travel times by hand.
HolidayWow takes the same kind of sentence about a trip, for example a week in Hawaii with the kids in spring break, and draws it straight onto a map as a day-by-day plan, with a pin for every stop and a travel time on every leg, rather than handing back a paragraph to copy out.
A chat assistant is genuinely useful for the early, open-ended part of planning: naming regions you have not considered, explaining what a place is known for, or answering a one-off question about a visa or a local custom while you are still deciding where to go.

Once the destination, the month and the people coming are settled, the planning job changes from gathering ideas to sequencing days, checking travel times and keeping prices current, which is the part a plan on a map handles directly rather than through more chat messages.

Instead of a list to turn into an itinerary yourself, HolidayWow hands back a day-by-day plan where each day is already a route: a pace of relaxed (1 to 2 stops), balanced (2 to 3 stops) or packed (3 to 5 stops), a pin for every stop and the travel time already shown on each leg.

The plan stays editable from there. Drag a stop to another day, swap a place for a different one, or lighten a day that runs long, and the plan checker reorders what is left automatically, so a change does not mean rebuilding the trip from scratch.

Every idea comes with a total price and a clear answer to why it fits you: weather, flight time, beaches, food, short distances.

The two approaches suit different moments in planning a trip. A chat answer is quick for brainstorming and for one-off questions, while a drafted plan is built for the part that follows: fitting days together, keeping travel times honest and getting from an idea to bookings.

Price, editing and sharing are worth weighing up directly: a chat answer has no live prices and no shared, editable version for a group, while a plan on a map carries both from the first draft onward.

New Caledonia in April sits around 27°C by day and 23°C overnight, with the sea at 27°C, 6 hours of sun and 17 rain days, a warm shoulder month for a short overseas trip, among the closer international routes on the map.

A chat assistant can suggest New Caledonia and list a few things to do there. HolidayWow goes further: the same destination becomes a balanced plan of 2 to 3 stops a day along the coast and the lagoon, each leg timed, with the climate numbers for April already on the day cards rather than something to look up separately.

A trip idea that started as a chat conversation, or as notes copied out of one, can be typed or said as a single sentence to HolidayWow, and the planner reads the place, the month, the group and the pace from it the same way it would from a fresh idea.
For a September stopover in Dubai, where the month runs around 34°C by day and 32°C overnight with the sea at 33°C, 9 hours of sun and 1 rain day, a packed pace of 3 to 5 stops a day suits a short stopover like this, with the heat pointing the plan toward an early start and an indoor stretch in the middle of the day.

Direct flights, flight times and transfers from 7 Australian airports, worked out from your door to the hotel.

Flights, hotel, transfers and experiences in one sum for everyone traveling, with the provider and when the price was checked. No teaser prices.

Stays, tours and transport show live prices from partners (Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Viator, Trip.com, flight partners), or a "Check live price" button, with booking happening from inside the plan in Australian dollars rather than through a separate search.

One link shares the finished plan with everyone travelling, with roles for who can view and who can edit, voting on stops, comments on a day, and cost splitting for a group, none of which a block of chat text can offer on its own.

Because school holidays fall on different weeks by state, naming the exact break, for example 10 days in Bali in the September school holidays, lets HolidayWow build the plan around those dates rather than a guessed month, something a general chat answer has no way to check.

The Long Weekend planner also reads official public holiday dates and shows how around 20 typical leave days a year can stretch a long weekend into a longer trip, turning the dates question into part of the plan rather than a separate search.

Describe the trip in one sentence or by voice, the same way you might open a chat, and the first day-by-day plan appears on the map ready to edit, price and share.
